Can Blue Ivy Live?

Let me start off this post by saying that SOME PEOPLE BLOW ME! What kind of adult would hate on a toddler? I am so disgusted by comments adults have made about Young Blue Ivy Carter and her appearance, I've decided to tell the world why I'm mad. On Curly Nikki's Facebook page, a picture of Beyonce and Blue Ivy arriving at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne was posted. The caption posted with the photo was "Peep Blue's adorable two-strand twists! LOVE!". However, some of Curly Nikki's followers felt this was an appropriate time to bash Blue Ivy's hair, and say she looked like a boy. *blank stare*

I personally don't see anything wrong with Blue Ivy's hair in this photo or in others. When her hair is in her little fro, people cry and say Bey should comb it. Now, that it is styled in twists, folks still don't like it. Make up your minds about what you want people! I really find it funny that people who heavily frequent Curly Nikki, which is a natural hair site, don't like her twists. SMH

I just want to know how many of these people were apart of Bey's entourage prior to this photo being taken and can honestly say they know exactly what Blue Ivy was doing at that time. This curiosity actually applies to every photo Blue Ivy is in. She is a toddler. For all we know, she could have been knocked out in the car seat, which could be why her twists are sticking up in the air. Maybe her twists just stick up in the air naturally. Maybe Blue Ivy likes to snatch barrettes and bows out of her hair, which is why she doesn't wear them often. The scenarios are endless. Unless we live in the Carter household, all we can do is speculate.

For adults to criticize Blue Ivy for what her hair and appearance looks like is so sad to me. So what if when we see her, she isn't wearing a pink dress. Maybe she wore one the day before. All the negative comments from adults are basically typical of our society that says, if you don't look a certain way, you are NOT cute or beautiful. Instead of embracing and encouraging this adorable little girl, we are just tearing her down. Hopefully, her parents are telling her she's beautiful everyday.

What's really sad is most of these people are saying these horrible things about Blue Ivy because of who her parents are. Just like any of us, they decide how they want to raise their child and most likely doesn't appreciate negative input from people they don't know. Just because some feel Blue Ivy should walk around looking like a million bucks, doesn't mean her parents, who both had modest upbringings, want to instill that in her. And at the end of the day, Blue Ivy aint got no worries.

I'm not even going to comment on the amount of babies I see whose hairstyles could be determined questionable (and most of Blue Ivy's haters children probably fall into this category). However, I don't feel the need to judge because they are babies. I rather see babies with fros than with tight ponytails that are pulling their edges. Hell, I prefer that for myself. Infact, my hair looks like Blue Ivy's in the photos above most of the time. I also don't like pink. Go figure.

I could clearly continue on, but I really wanted to say leave Blue Ivy alone! She's just trying to live her life, but as usual, people always have something negative to say. She's not bothering anyone. Her hair or appearance is not affecting anyone. This just confirms that we as a society need to do better and uplift our young children.

I completely agree. People make me sick. What do they want from them? To put a perm in the childs head or put 30 inches of weave in it? She is a baby.

That’s what I’m saying! I just don’t understand what people want. If the baby looked overdone every day, people would have stuff to say about that. It’s like a lose lose situation. smh

Thank you!! Sometimes fighting with a toddler and a comb/brush just isnt worth the effort. My daughter was so tender headed, she would start screaming whenever she saw the comb. My neighbors called CPS. I attempted to comb her hair with the investigator sitting there, he wished me luck and went about his business. The rest of the summer, I did her hair on the front porch.

No matter who they are or what they do, its clear these parents love their daughter, and should be allowed to raise her their way without such backlash.
