I'm am so excited to officially announce that I have been chosen to be an Alikay Naturals Brand Ambassador for the Baltimore area. How did I get this opportunity? Well, I saw a posting for it on the Alikay Naturals Facebook page, and instantly made up my mind this was something I NEEDED to do. I am such a huge fan of the Alikay Naturals Honey & Sage Deep Conditioner (check out my review here) and the Lemongrass Leave-In, and I knew I needed to help spread the word about this amazing brand.
Long time, no talk to! I want to wish you all a Happy New Year. 2014 is going to be an awesome year. I am speaking it into existence =).
So, what's been going on with me? Well, I have been working on building the Coily Candy brand… literally. Since I am a graphic designer, I created and designed the Coily Candy blog, and I am now working on the eBoutique site in addition to creating an identity for Coily Candy. In other words, I have been crazy busy!
Since I have so much on my plate, I have to admit that I have been debating on whether I wanted to continue blogging for Kinky Hair Affair or not. I didn't think I would have the time to do so, so I was ready to hang it up. I know I say time was a factor in my decision, but there are others. The blogosphere is so saturated and competitive that I have often wondered if KHA had it's own voice. I've also become a little bored with writing solely about hair. I know you all noticed that I have been posting less and less on the blog and on the KHA social pages…
Hellloooo! I feel like I haven't talked to you all in a while. I have been very busy trying to fulfill my dream of being an entrepreneur.
About a month ago, I developed a strong urge to pursue my vision of opening a natural hair boutique selling products targeting those with natural hair. Well, I tweaked that concept since I have recently become semi-obsessed with avoiding hair, body, and household products containing harmful ingredients. As a result, Coily Candy was born!
One of the things I really enjoy about blogging is trying out various products and sharing my opinions about their ability to assist in the maintenance of my natural hair. I am not one who uses a product once and then write a review on how it worked for me because honestly, I feel like a product should be used multiple times in order for our to hair adapt to it. I want my product reviews to express my honest views on the performance the products after consistent usage.
Now that I got that out of the way, I now introduce my product review for the Perfect Pretty Pudding (P.P.P), which is one of the products I received from Nene's Secret a few months ago and used before I cut my hair. According to the Nene's Secret website, the P.P.P is super moisturizing, ends curl shrinkage, eliminates frizz, provides curl control, strengthens curls, and adds super shine.
Let me start off this post by saying that SOME PEOPLE BLOW ME! What kind of adult would hate on a toddler? I am so disgusted by comments adults have made about Young Blue Ivy Carter and her appearance, I've decided to tell the world why I'm mad. On Curly Nikki's Facebook page, a picture of Beyonce and Blue Ivy arriving at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne was posted. The caption posted with the photo was "Peep Blue's adorable two-strand twists! LOVE!". However, some of Curly Nikki's followers felt this was an appropriate time to bash Blue Ivy's hair, and say she looked like a boy. *blank stare*
